A woman, probably middle aged with caramel colored skin and long, straight red hair holds a small puppy against her shoulder. She wears a bright blue low cut shirt and necklace, and her puppy is white with tan ears and spots over its eyes.

Every Family Deserves to Stay Whole

Pets are family. In Oakland, too many families are torn apart by poverty, housing instability, or lack of access to basic animal care. HAPI removes barriers by providing free microchips, ID tags, vaccines, food, and support—so pets stay with the people who love them.

How We Support People and Their Pets

HAPI works alongside pet owners and community partners to remove barriers to care and helps pets stay with the people who love them.

A small, elderly looking chihuahua is cradled in their person's arm, belly up. The dog is grey, shorthaired, with a white face and pink tummy and toes. He is looking at the camera, legs in the air, safe in his person's arms.

A smiling man sits on the curb holding his three happy dogs. He is a Black man, youngish, with hair that is black and red, half black and half red. His dogs are smallish, two white with dark spots and one on his lap, brown with a pink tongue.
